- This is an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor. It is an inhibitor of platelet aggregation. Its activity may depend on the homolytic cleavage of the S-N bond under physiological conditions, which yields nitric oxide (NO) and the parent compound, captopril.
