A ferric porphyrin complex that catalytically isomerizes peroxynitrite to nitrate both in vivo and in vitro. Hence, serves as a decomposition catalyst and a selective peroxynitrite scavenger. Does not complex with nitric oxide and exhibits little SOD mimetic activity. Provides cytoprotection against peroxynitrite.
Storage
Store at 4° C. Following reconstitution, aliquot and freeze (-20°C). Stock solutions are stable for up to 6 weeks at -20°C.
