2-Iminopiperidine hydrochloride is an inhibitor of NO synthases with an IC50 value of 1.0. Studies indicate that human nitric oxide synthase (NOS) isoforms can be inhibited by isomforms of 2-Iminopiperidine hydrochloride. In addition, 2-Iminopiperidine hydrochloride is more potent inhibitor than NG-methyl-L-arginine. Studies also demonstrate that 2-Iminopiperidine hydrochloride is selective for iNOS.
