Aminoguanidine hemisulfate is an Inhibitor of NOS (nitric oxide synthase) and NO (nitric oxide). Due to Aminoguanidine hemisulfate’s NO inhibition the compound demonstrated to inhibit the immunosuppressing effects of an attenuated strain of Salmonella typhimurium. Another secondary effect observed by Aminoguanidine hemisulfate’s inhibition of NO is the prevention of diabetic vascular dysfunction in rats.
